Step 1: Grab a Sheet of Paper & Fold

Lets create a story about the Portrait of Lady with an Accordion—Grab a sheet of paper and fold it in half ( hot dog style) and then in half again ( Hamburger style). you now have four rectangles.

Step 2: Draw Her & Name Her

In the first rectangle draw the lady as best as you can—include a word bubble saying "Hi, my name is ______" Choose the best name you can!

Step 3: Draw Her a House

In the second rectangle, draw a picture of the kind of house you think the lady lives in…let your imagination soar!

Step 4: Draw Her with Her Favorite Food

In the third rectangle, draw a picture of the lady and her favorite food—What do you think she likes to eat? Add a word bubble that says "Mmm! ______, my favorite!"

Step 5: Draw Her a Pet

Everyone needs a pet! Draw a picture of the type of pet you think the lady would have—Don't forget to give it a name!

Step 5: Write Her Story on the Back

Once you have finished, flip your paper over and write a story. Use four sentences to tell us about the lady—what her name is, where she lives, what she likes to eat, and about her pet.

Step 6: Send Us Your Stories in Art

After you are finished, have your parent take a picture of both sides and send it to us! Email it to artmuseum@lsu.edu or tag us on social media @lsumoa. We can’t wait to see your creations!
