Give the gift of arts and culture to the Capital City

By Brandi Simmons

With the holidays rapidly approaching, you’ve surely started to think about what you’ll be giving your loved ones. What’s a better gift than giving back to your community?

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, LSU MOA will participate in Give Baton Rouge Day, spearheaded by Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO), as part of the global day of giving known as Giving Tuesday.

We’ve set our 2016 goal at $7,500. This money would help fund innovative exhibitions, sustain our existing community and educational programs, like Neighborhood Arts Project and ArtWorks, and expand initiatives to further the museum’s mission and engage the entire community in diverse programming.

Whether your interests lie in celebrating the visual arts in Baton Rouge, arts-focused education or community outreach through the arts, the museum’s impact is best achieved through your support—both financially and through word of mouth.

Pledge: Give Baton Rouge Day might only be one day, but you can give to the museum at any time. If you’d like to give in advance, stop by the museum today and ask for a pledge card (or download one here) to start us off strong. We’ll wait to process your payment through the Give Baton Rouge Day platform on Tuesday, November 29.

Donate: If you’re waiting until November 29 to make your contribution, there are a couple ways to give either $10, $25, $100 or more. Text LSUMOA to 1-574-217-0544 and receive a prompt to provide your donation amount. Visit give.benevolentenabler.com/support-the-lsu-museum-of-art-174 and enter your donation directly into the site.

Share: Whether through face-to-face interaction or social media networking, you can spread the word alongside us to help us reach the goal. Email your friends, make phone calls, retweet our #GiveBR messages—whatever method you’re most comfortable with is an asset to LSU MOA.

Post: Tell us why you’re supporting the museum via your social channels using the #MyLSUMOA hashtag. We’ll repost our favorites on our social media channels and give away a free friend-level membership to one valued supporter.
